I swear I sound like a broken record saying “If you don’t want to look like ‘em, then don’t cook like ‘em!”
Enter Paula Deen.
Deen has been diagnosed with diabetes and no one really knows quite how long she’s had it for, as she hasn’t owned up since reports started surfacing in April.
I must admit that I feel two completely different ways about this: 1) your health is completely your business and you should never have to go public with it, 2.) when you get a disease related to the food you eat and the food you encourage other people to eat you should really be putting a disclaimer on yourself and your recipes. Something along the lines of “Following this way of eating may lead to obesity and/or lifestyle related diseases such as diabetes. “

Next up, I’ve got some lovely foods, superfoods actually, to share with you guys.
I know some people are totally into superfoods, but I’m pretty blah about them. Yeah, they’re good, but I find it hard to believe that if you’re not munching on goji berries, cacao, and chia seeds all day that you’re just a lesser human being, as some rather annoying raw foodies would have you believe (ahem, David Wolfe). That being said, I (and all of us here at FreeFrom Blogs) love trying new food so, I ordered myself a bunch of superfoods from The Raw Chocolate Co. via Goodness Direct.
I’m going to try these bad boys out for a few weeks and then I’ll be back with an update for you guys.
